The first thing that comes to mind when you think of fire or water damage to your home or business is typically the loss of clothes, furniture, goods, and electronics. However, something we don’t often think about is all of the legal documents and photos that can be lost as well. Here at SERVPRO we understand the importance of restoring these irreplaceable documents, so we offer a service that aims to recover and restore photos and legal papers through an assortment of techniques that ensure your best chance at saving and recovering the important ones.

One process we use is vacuum freeze drying where we employ sublimation to freeze and dry an item to bypass the liquid stage and restore the item to its previous form. It is the most efficient and effective way to save water damaged items and it’s the only method approved by NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) and GSA (General Service Administration).

Another method we can use is digitizing. If you have many documents that have been physically affected but are still able to be digitally recorded, those documents can be filed online in a safe place eliminating the need for many records in storage that are subject to potential damage.

SERVPRO follows a process that includes, inventory, packaging, cold storage, shipping, and finally receipt of documents to ensure everything is accounted for and restored accordingly. Document restoration is a unique service offered by SERVPRO because we understand the value of physical documents and the importance of restoring photos. Call SERVPRO to get a free estimate on your damaged documents or photos and we’ll do our best to make it seem "Like it never even happened."
